Ο κανονισμός

Κανόνες

Οι κανόνες ισχύουν όπως είναι γραμμένοι στα αγγλικά, τη γλώσσα του server. Η άγνοιά τους δεν σε απαλλάσσει.

Our Philosophy

Valknut is a roleplay community first and a game server second.

The goal is not to win every fight, escape every arrest, maximize every payout or protect every possession. Good roleplay means creating situations that other players can participate in, react to and remember.

Story Before Winning

Winning a gunfight, chase, argument or criminal job should never matter more than the story created around it.

Actions Have Consequences

Characters are expected to live with the consequences of their decisions. Losing is part of roleplay.

Give Roleplay Back

When another player gives you a scene, interact with it. Do not reduce situations to mechanics, grinding or gunplay.

Keep IC and OOC Separate

Conflict between characters must remain between characters. Never carry IC problems into OOC spaces or OOC problems into the city.

Playing on Valknut means accepting both the written rules and their underlying purpose. Attempting to technically work around the wording of a rule while violating its purpose may still result in staff action.

Community & Account Rules

  1. 1.1

    Respect the Community

    V3–V5

    Treat players, staff members and community members with basic respect.

    Targeted harassment, threats, discrimination, hate speech, sexual harassment or sustained personal abuse are prohibited.

    Roleplaying a hostile character does not give permission to attack the real person behind another character.

    Serious cases may result in immediate permanent removal.

  2. 1.2

    Keep Real-World Hate and Politics Out of RP

    V2–V5

    Valknut exists in its own fictional world.

    Do not create storylines based around real-world racism, homophobia, transphobia, extremist movements, real-world political conflicts or similar discriminatory themes.

    Fictional rivalries between gangs, organizations, businesses, neighborhoods or characters are allowed.

  3. 1.3

    No Toxicity or Griefing

    V2–V4

    Do not deliberately ruin another player's experience simply to frustrate them.

    Examples include:

    • repeatedly targeting someone without meaningful RP;
    • excessive OOC trash talking;
    • intentionally disrupting scenes;
    • rage baiting;
    • abusing mechanics to annoy other players;
    • deliberately creating low-effort situations designed only to provoke reactions.

    Character conflict is allowed. Player harassment is not.

  4. 1.4

    Account Integrity

    V3–V5

    Your account belongs to you.

    Account sharing is prohibited.

    Alternative accounts must never be used to:

    • bypass a ban;
    • evade restrictions;
    • manipulate applications;
    • spy on community spaces;
    • circumvent character or economy restrictions.

    Ban evasion is considered a critical violation.

  5. 1.5

    Advertising

    V2–V4

    Advertising another RP server, Discord community or competing service through Valknut platforms without permission is prohibited.

  6. 1.6

    Minimum Age

    You must be at least 16 years old to play on Valknut.

    Some roles, such as gang leaders and staff, require 18+.

Roleplay & Immersion

  1. 2.1

    Stay In Character

    V1–V2

    Stay in character while participating in an active scene.

    Do not stop RP to argue about rules.

    If you believe someone broke a rule, finish the scene where reasonably possible, preserve evidence and report it afterward.

    OOC communication should only be used when absolutely necessary for a technical or safety issue.

  2. 2.2

    Roleplay Must Be Two-Way

    V1–V3

    Roleplay is collaborative.

    Your actions should leave other players a meaningful opportunity to react.

    A scene should not become:

    "I perform an action, therefore you automatically lose."

    Consequences created legitimately through RP are allowed. Forcing the outcome without allowing interaction is not.

  3. 2.3

    Powergaming

    V2–V3

    Powergaming means forcing unrealistic actions or denying another player reasonable counterplay.

    Examples include:

    • forcing another player through /me;
    • chaining restraint, robbery and execution together without reaction time;
    • abusing animations to gain combat advantages;
    • using mechanics in ways a real person could not;
    • forcing someone into a vehicle or restraints when the situation does not realistically permit it.
  4. 2.4

    Fail RP

    V1–V3

    Characters must behave consistently with the world around them.

    Fail RP includes deliberately unrealistic or immersion-breaking behavior that damages a scene.

    Examples include:

    • treating serious injuries like nothing happened;
    • repeatedly performing extreme vehicle stunts with no RP;
    • behaving like the city is a deathmatch lobby;
    • ignoring meaningful consequences;
    • excessive grinding with little or no RP interaction;
    • deliberately playing only for mechanical advantage.
  5. 2.5

    Value of Life / NVL

    V2–V3

    Your character values their own life.

    Being fearless does not make your character immune to danger.

    If several armed people have complete control of a situation, attempting an impossible attack simply because game mechanics allow it may constitute NVL.

    Characters may attempt reasonable escapes when an opportunity genuinely exists.

  6. 2.6

    Character Integrity

    V1–V2

    Characters should have believable names, behavior and identities.

    Names designed primarily as jokes, offensive references or copies of celebrities/content creators may be rejected.

    Characters should not exist solely to troll or destroy immersion.

  7. 2.7

    Keep Your Characters Separate

    V2–V3

    Your characters do not share memories, property, contacts or information simply because the same player controls them.

    You may not:

    • transfer money between your characters;
    • transfer vehicles or items between them;
    • use another person as an intermediary;
    • bring another character into a storyline because your first character discovered something useful.

    Each character should have an independent life.

  8. 2.8

    Language

    V1–V2

    English is the language of the city: in voice, in text chat and in anything other players can see or hear.

  9. 2.9

    Microphone

    A working microphone is required.

    Roleplay on Valknut is voice-based.

Information & Metagaming

  1. 3.1

    Metagaming

    V3–V4

    Your character may only act on information obtained through legitimate in-character means.

    Information from:

    • Discord;
    • streams;
    • Twitch chat;
    • private messages;
    • another character;
    • staff conversations;
    • OOC discussions;

    cannot influence your character unless that information was also learned IC.

    Indirectly using meta information still counts as metagaming.

  2. 3.2

    Stream Sniping

    V4

    Using another player's livestream to determine their location, actions, possessions, plans or surroundings is prohibited.

    Do not watch someone you are actively involved with in a hostile scene.

    Streamer chat may never be used as an intelligence source.

  3. 3.3

    Meta Communication

    V3–V4

    Do not coordinate active RP using Discord, private calls or external communication systems when the information should be exchanged through in-game systems.

Violence & Conflict

  1. 4.1

    RDM

    V3–V4

    Random Deathmatch means attacking another player without sufficient RP reason or escalation.

    Violence must have understandable RP context.

    Simply saying one sentence immediately before shooting someone does not automatically create valid initiation.

  2. 4.2

    VDM

    V3–V4

    Vehicles are not weapons by default.

    Using a vehicle to deliberately incapacitate another player without valid RP context is prohibited.

    Using reasonable vehicle contact while attempting to escape immediate danger may be acceptable when proportionate to the situation.

  3. 4.3

    Escalation Before Violence

    V2–V3

    Hostile actions require reasonable escalation.

    The target should understand that a threat exists and normally have a meaningful opportunity to react.

    Previous story can contribute to initiation, but old conflict does not create unlimited permission to attack someone indefinitely.

  4. 4.4

    No Warlording

    V2–V4

    Do not manipulate mechanics purely to force another player into a helpless state so they can be executed.

    Repeated ramming, tackling, tasing or similar mechanics solely to guarantee an execution may constitute powergaming or RDM.

  5. 4.5

    Conflict Participant Limit

    V2–V3

    The default civilian/criminal PvP limit is six active participants per side.

    Anyone directly assisting the scene counts, including:

    • shooters;
    • drivers;
    • lookouts;
    • scouts;
    • radio coordinators;
    • players supplying live tactical information.

    Characters unrelated to the original conflict may not join simply because they are friends with one side.

    Law enforcement operates under department SOP and is expected to scale its response reasonably to the threat.

    Staff-approved events may use different limits.

  6. 4.6

    Third-Party Interference

    V2–V3

    Do not insert yourself into another group's active gunfight, robbery, chase or heist without a legitimate prior connection to that scene.

    Seeing an opportunity for loot or combat is not sufficient RP justification.

  7. 4.7

    Cop Baiting

    V2

    Do not repeatedly provoke law enforcement solely to create a chase, shootout or reaction.

    Crime should have character motivation beyond obtaining police attention.

  8. 4.8

    Green Zones

    V2–V4

    Hospitals and designated protected areas exist to allow critical services and recovery to function. Green zones are marked in the city.

    Do not initiate planned violence there.

    You also may not run into a protected location to magically escape an active conflict.

    An already active scene may continue into the area when doing so is the natural result of the situation.

    Police stations are not magical safe zones, but attacks against them require substantial RP justification and may not be used as casual combat arenas.

  9. 4.9

    Combat Logging

    V3

    Disconnecting, quitting or deliberately crashing to avoid an active scene or its consequences is prohibited.

    If you crash by accident, reconnect as soon as possible and let the people involved know.

Crime, Robberies & Heists

  1. 5.1

    Crime Must Create Roleplay

    V1–V3

    Criminal activity should create scenes, not simply produce money.

    Repeatedly optimizing criminal mechanics while avoiding interaction may be treated as low-quality RP.

  2. 5.2

    Official Crime Requirements

    V2

    Minimum police requirements, mechanical restrictions and robbery cooldowns published by Valknut are considered part of the rules.

    Do not deliberately manipulate player counts or disconnect/connect characters to bypass those requirements.

  3. 5.3

    Heist Ownership

    V2–V3

    Once another group has actively begun a robbery or heist, an unrelated group may not interfere merely to steal the objective or start the same mechanic.

    Let the existing scene finish.

  4. 5.4

    No Mid-Scene Resupply Abuse

    V2

    Once police interaction has begun during a robbery or major heist, participants may not repeatedly leave the scene to replenish equipment and return.

    Reasonable continuation of an existing pursuit is different from deliberately resetting resources.

  5. 5.5

    Hostages

    V2–V3

    Hostages must be treated as participants in RP, not disposable game mechanics.

    Do not repeatedly use the same friend as a fake hostage.

    Hostages must have meaningful interaction and reasonable opportunities to participate in the scene.

    Taking emergency or government employees hostage solely because their job gives mechanical leverage may be restricted by staff or department policy.

  6. 5.6

    Prison Breaks & Custody Interceptions

    V3

    Attempting to free a prisoner requires meaningful planning and appropriate escalation.

    Attacking a police station simply because a friend was arrested is not sufficient.

    Interceptions should normally occur once transport or a genuine transfer scene is underway unless there is significant RP justification otherwise.

  7. 5.7

    Restarts Do Not Reset RP

    V2–V3

    A scheduled restart does not erase an ongoing scene.

    If you were under arrest, kidnapped, being transported or otherwise involved in active RP when the restart occurred, you are expected to continue that situation after reconnecting where practical.

    Do not deliberately initiate major crime immediately before a scheduled restart to avoid consequences.

Downed Players, Death & NLR

  1. 6.1

    Downed Does Not Mean OOC

    V1–V2

    While incapacitated, remain in character.

    Do not:

    • complain OOC;
    • provide detailed tactical callouts;
    • coordinate the fight;
    • use inaccessible information;
    • suddenly become AFK to avoid RP.

    Your injuries should influence how you communicate.

  2. 6.2

    Respawning

    V2–V3

    Respawning is a last resort.

    Do not respawn to:

    • avoid police;
    • avoid being robbed;
    • escape kidnapping;
    • destroy evidence;
    • avoid medical RP;
    • exit an active conflict.

    If EMS or police assistance is reasonably expected, allow the scene to continue.

  3. 6.3

    New Life Rule

    V2

    When you fully respawn following incapacitation, your character loses clear memory of the immediate events that caused that incapacitation.

    You may not immediately return for revenge or rejoin the same conflict.

    Information legitimately learned before the final moments may remain as vague context, but respawning may never be used as a method to identify attackers or resume combat.

  4. 6.4

    Permanent Character Death

    Player controlled

    Permanent death of a character belongs to the player controlling that character unless a specifically approved server system or storyline says otherwise.

    No player may force another person's CK through /me, ocean dumping, execution or mechanical actions.

  5. 6.5

    Body Dumping

    V2

    Moving or hiding a body may be used for legitimate story purposes.

    It does not automatically cause memory loss or permanent death.

    Repeatedly hiding bodies only to prevent participation or abuse evidence systems may constitute griefing.

Player Robberies & Property

  1. 7.1

    Pocket Wiping

    V2–V3

    Take what makes sense for the scene.

    Robbing weapons, meaningful valuables or criminal evidence may be reasonable.

    Removing every piece of food, water, clothing and miscellaneous inventory with no RP reason is considered griefing.

  2. 7.2

    Robbery Farming

    V2

    Do not repeatedly rob random players purely to farm inventory.

    Player robbery should have some RP context beyond seeing someone alone.

  3. 7.3

    Property & Economy Transfers

    V3

    Do not use alternate characters, friends, businesses or temporary transfers to bypass character separation, asset restrictions, debt, bans or economy systems.

Gangs & Organizations

  1. 8.1

    Organization Approval

    Official gangs and organizations must comply with Valknut's roster and approval requirements.

    Staff may impose roster limits based on server population and balancing needs.

  2. 8.2

    Leadership Responsibility

    V1–V3

    Leaders are expected to actively manage their organization.

    A leader is not automatically punished for every member's mistake, but repeatedly ignoring organized rule-breaking may result in faction-level consequences.

  3. 8.3

    Gang Conflict Must Have a Story

    V2–V3

    Gang wars should develop through RP.

    Do not manufacture wars simply to obtain constant PvP.

    Both sides should have a realistic route toward negotiation, surrender, settlement or conclusion.

  4. 8.4

    Endless Conflict

    V2–V4

    Conflict cannot continue forever simply because neither side wants to lose.

    Repeated attacks with no meaningful story development or realistic resolution may be treated as griefing or NVL.

  5. 8.5

    Alliance Zerging

    V3

    Separate organizations may have relationships, but they may not combine large numbers of members to bypass conflict limits or overwhelm another group.

Government & Whitelisted Roles

  1. 9.1

    Government Power Must Create RP

    V2–V4

    Police, medical, DOJ and other government positions receive mechanical or legal authority that ordinary characters do not have.

    That authority must not be abused for OOC reasons.

  2. 9.2

    Department SOP

    Department SOPs supplement the server rules.

    Breaking an SOP does not automatically mean a server rule was broken.

    However, deliberate abuse of government mechanics may become a server-level violation.

  3. 9.3

    Government Equipment

    V3

    Job-restricted equipment and supplies may not be distributed or sold outside their intended role unless an approved system specifically allows it.

  4. 9.4

    Corruption

    V2–V4

    Government corruption can create excellent RP when handled properly.

    Large-scale corruption involving restricted information, evidence manipulation, government inventories or sustained criminal cooperation may require staff approval.

    Government characters may never fabricate OOC information or falsify evidence submitted to staff.

  5. 9.5

    Targeted Government Abuse

    V3–V4

    Government authority may not be repeatedly used against a specific player or group because of OOC disagreements.

    IC investigations based on legitimate evidence are allowed regardless of how negatively the targeted character feels about them.

Cheats, Exploits & Modifications

  1. 11.1

    Cheats

    V5

    Any software or modification providing an unfair gameplay advantage is prohibited.

    Examples include:

    • aimbots;
    • wallhacks;
    • ESP;
    • unauthorized injectors;
    • external combat-assistance tools;
    • recoil manipulation;
    • automated combat scripts.

    Confirmed cheating normally results in permanent removal.

  2. 11.2

    Exploiting

    V4–V5

    If you discover a bug, report it.

    Do not repeatedly use it for personal gain.

    Severe examples include:

    • duplicating money or items;
    • bypassing locked areas;
    • abusing inventories;
    • intentionally manipulating server state;
    • exploiting animations to avoid combat mechanics;
    • abusing a known bug after being told to stop.

    The greater the economic or competitive impact, the greater the penalty.

  3. 11.3

    Macros & Automation

    V3–V5

    Automation that performs gameplay or provides advantages unavailable to ordinary players is prohibited.

    Simple accessibility tools may be reviewed by staff individually.

  4. 11.4

    Competitive Visual/Audio Modifications

    V3–V5

    Graphics and audio modifications must not provide combat intelligence beyond what ordinary players receive.

    Examples of prohibited modifications may include:

    • visibility modifications designed to expose players;
    • abnormal field-of-view modifications;
    • external crosshairs where prohibited;
    • audio packs specifically designed to exaggerate footsteps or combat cues;
    • visual changes designed to make targets unnaturally visible.

    Purely cosmetic modifications that do not provide an advantage are generally permitted.

Recordings, Reports & Staff

  1. 12.1

    Report After the Scene

    Do not destroy an RP scene by arguing about server rules.

    Where reasonably possible, finish the scene and report the issue afterward: through the in-game report system or a ticket in our Discord.

  2. 12.2

    Report Window

    Normal gameplay reports should be submitted within 48 hours.

    Serious harassment, cheating, threats or community-safety issues are exempt from this limit and should be reported as soon as possible.

  3. 12.3

    Evidence

    Reports should contain enough information for staff to fairly investigate them.

    Clips should show relevant context rather than intentionally removing events that would change how the situation is understood.

    Submitting fabricated, altered or deliberately misleading evidence is a severe violation.

  4. 12.4

    POV Requirement

    Players repeatedly participating in organized gang wars or high-level conflict are strongly expected to retain POV where practical.

    When staff specifically announces a mandatory POV period, required recordings must be retained for at least 7 days.

    Deleting evidence after being informed it is required for an active investigation may be treated as an aggravating factor.

  5. 12.5

    Staff Decisions

    Staff decisions are followed during gameplay.

    Disagreements are handled through the appropriate appeal or support process: a ticket in our Discord.

    Do not harass staff members through private messages.

  6. 12.6

    Staff Impersonation

    V4

    Impersonating a member of staff, falsifying staff messages or pretending to have administrative authority is prohibited.

Valknut Penalty System

Penalties exist to protect the community, not to create a competition over punishments.

The listed severity is the normal starting range, not an automatic sentence.

Staff considers:

  • intent;
  • impact on the scene;
  • previous violations;
  • whether the behavior was repeated;
  • whether the player attempted to conceal it;
  • cooperation during investigation;
  • whether the player gained an unfair advantage.
  1. Minor

    V1 · 5 points

    Typical consequence: Coaching, formal warning or up to 24-hour suspension.

    Used for low-impact rule violations that can normally be corrected quickly.

    Examples:

    • unnecessary OOC;
    • minor breaking character;
    • first-time low-impact Fail RP;
    • minor ticket misuse.
  2. Moderate

    V2 · 10 points

    Typical consequence: 1–3 day suspension.

    Examples:

    • NVL;
    • NLR;
    • pocket wiping;
    • green-zone abuse;
    • cop baiting;
    • minor powergaming;
    • exceeding participant limits;
    • low-level griefing.
  3. Serious

    V3 · 15 points

    Typical consequence: 5–7 day suspension.

    Examples:

    • RDM/VDM;
    • combat logging;
    • significant powergaming;
    • intentional character-to-character transfers;
    • major government abuse;
    • serious third-party interference;
    • repeated V2 violations.
  4. Severe

    V4 · 25 points

    Typical consequence: 14–30 day suspension plus whitelist/priority review.

    Examples:

    • stream sniping;
    • serious metagaming;
    • repeated RDM/VDM;
    • major harassment;
    • large-scale exploiting;
    • fabricated report evidence;
    • organized rule abuse;
    • coordinated economy abuse.
  5. Critical

    V5 · 50 points

    Typical consequence: Indefinite or permanent removal.

    Examples:

    • cheating;
    • malicious injectors;
    • intentional economy duplication at scale;
    • ban evasion;
    • targeted hate speech;
    • credible threats;
    • severe sexual harassment;
    • malicious doxxing;
    • intentionally compromising server infrastructure;
    • repeated severe violations showing no willingness to follow community standards.

    Some V5 bans may be marked Permanent / No Appeal.

Active Warning Points

Penalty points remain active for 90 days from the date they are issued.

  1. 15 active points

    Player enters Conduct Watch. Future violations may be escalated.

  2. 25 active points

    Queue priority may be suspended and the player's whitelist status is reviewed.

  3. 40 active points

    Minimum 30-day suspension and whitelist/priority removal pending review.

  4. 50 active points

    Indefinite suspension. Re-entry requires an approved ban appeal unless the ban was declared permanent.

Points are a guide for consistent enforcement. Critical violations may bypass the normal point progression.

Escalation & Mitigation

A normal penalty may move one level higher when:

  • the same behavior was recently punished;
  • the violation was clearly intentional;
  • multiple players were affected;
  • the player attempted to hide evidence;
  • the player lied during the investigation;
  • several rules were broken as part of one deliberate act.

A penalty may move one level lower for appropriate non-critical violations when:

  • the player self-reports the issue;
  • the impact was genuinely minimal;
  • the player immediately stopped;
  • the violation resulted from an obvious misunderstanding;
  • the player has a strong clean history and cooperates fully.

Cheating, ban evasion and serious community-safety violations are not entitled to mitigation simply because the player admits them.

Appeals

Appeals are submitted through a ticket in our Discord.

A ban appeal is a review, not a second argument with the staff member who issued the penalty.

Appeals should explain:

  1. what happened;
  2. what rule was broken;
  3. what the player understands differently now;
  4. why staff should consider allowing the player back.

Harassing staff, submitting repeated appeals or publicly creating drama around an active appeal may result in restrictions.

Unless otherwise specified:

  • short bans should normally be served rather than appealed;
  • indefinite suspensions may be appealed after 30 days;
  • permanent/no-appeal bans cannot be appealed unless Senior Management explicitly reopens the case.

Choose the story.
